When you look at these pictures you would never believe that Chanel works as a ranger at Botlierskop Game Reserve, practices martial arts, hip hop dance and, top of it, works with Ace Models. That is the true nature of women – transformation. From sensitive and soft to wild and strong.
Through this fashion shoot myself and Chanel were exploring the story of a wild gypsy woman, full of intriguing energy, fire and sensitivity.

Last week I joined archaeologist Peter Nilssen on his tour “Point of Human Origins” in Mossel Bay South Africa. Rainy cold day didn’t spoil the experience. It was an exciting interactive talk on our origins and present human condition combined with an archaeological walk to scenic caves.
Until year 2000 it was believed that modern human behaviour first appeared in Eurasia about 50 000 years ago. The Pinnacle Point Caves of Mossel Bay show evidence of modern human behaviour that dates between 72 000 and 162 000 years ago. The evidence suggests that Pinnacle Point of Mossel Bay has the traces of the earliest modern humans. In other words until they find something else, that is where modern humans come from, that is where we come from or have been on our journey.
The big part of the Peter Nilssen’s tour is dedicated to understanding of the human bahaviour 100 000 years ago and comparison with our behaviour today. What was driving humans behaviour back then? Are we any different today? What did modern human back then knew and practiced that we’ve lost today? Where are we going as a specie?

When we first spoke with Bente about the photoshoot, I got an idea to create a look, inspired by a sense of spiritual mystery and awe, celebrating the forces of nature. It is just something about Bente’s being that makes you think about warm and caring fairies.

When book a Surfing Portfolio Shoot we will make arrangements and together we choose the best day, and the right spot, for the ultimate surfing conditions!
The photo shoot can be divided into a few sessions, as you wish, but it is advisable to make the first session early, with a quick break for a photo talk, immediately followed by another session. During breaks in-between sessions we can go through and discuss the photos. Feedback can be given so that we both have a better understanding of how to maximize this photo opportunity. You may have a particular shot you would like again and I may have a particular move I would like to shoot again!
At the end ALL photos will be provided to you in their original high-resolution format (on DVD) for good quality prints in the future. I will also edit a selection of your best shots! You may also wish to order customized or stylized prints!
